Recently, I participated in a fun discussion at BlogCatalog where we came up with clever headlines for spam emails that involved rock-n-roll bands or performers. I have to say, it was a great deal of fun to see what some people came up with as far as headlines were concerned. Today, I was very pleased to see that two of the headlines I (McWriters) created were listed in the top ten! WooHoo!!!
Anyhow, take a moment and check out all of the great headlines. There are some really good, creative ones there. For all of you spammers out there…DON’T STEAL OUR HEADLINES!
Kudos to TheBigRuski for putting the discussion together and creating the top ten list!

Due to the popularity of the Accent Quiz I posted a few weeks ago which received over 1400 hits, I decided to look for another fun quiz and found a good one. This one is called “Are You a Yankee or a Rebel?” This quiz is a little bit longer, but I think it asks some really good questions that everyone will enjoy. Check it out and take the test! I would enjoy knowing the results of your test.
I was firmly placed into the Rebel category (62%). My wife was a Yankee by a fair margin. For us, the accuracy of this test seems pretty good. I grew up in Texas and my wife is a Jersey girl.
Anyhow, when you have a few minutes, take the test and have fun with it!

Most people who don’t live in New England, the South, or the Midwest will tell you they don’t have any type of accent. However, as a person who has lived in many different areas of the United States, I can attest that this simply isn’t true. There are many, many regions in the US that have accents; whether the folks who live there will readily admit it or not is a different story!
This “Accent Test” is a fun and fairly accurate quiz. I’d encourage you to take the test and let us know if it was accurate for you. Have fun with it! In the coming months, I hope to explore a little bit more in-depth some of the regional colloquialisms that I have noticed while traveling or living in various areas of the United States. Our spoken language is quirky and always interesting!

Do you consider yourself to be a logical thinker? Do you like patterns? Are you observant and easily notice patterns? Do you follow set ways of getting things done? If you answer yes to most of these questions, then you might enjoy the puzzle I came across here. Of course, you also might end up putting your fist through your computer screen too!
I made it to level 3 on my first try. However, I’m going back to see if I can make it further. I’ll let you know how I make out! How about you? How far did you get?
